LOLER COMPLIANCE
WHAT IS A LOLER INSPECTION AND WHY IS IT NEEDED
A LOLER Inspection is a legal requirement under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations for any equipment used to lift or lower loads safely, such as goods lifts, passenger lifts, mobility-aided lifts, and tree climbing gear. Much like an MOT for your car, LOLER ensures that all lifting equipment is fully operational, safe to use, and compliant with safety regulations.

EXPERIENCED LOLER INSPECTORS YOU CAN TRUST
Callows Tree Surgery provides LOLER Inspection services carried out by inspectors with over 30 years of hands-on tree climbing experience. Still active in tree work, our inspector understands the real-world stresses on climbing and lifting equipment, ensuring every device is tested and verified for safety, reliability, and compliance with manufacturer guidelines. In addition, our commercial tree surgery services cater to businesses and large properties, providing expert tree care, risk management, and site clearance
HOW OFTEN ARE LOLER INSPECTIONS REQUIRED
Tree climbing equipment used by climbers must be tested every six months or immediately if the item is overloaded, altered, contaminated, or damaged. Rigging equipment requires testing annually. Regular inspections prevent equipment failure, maintain safety standards, and provide peace of mind while performing tree work, whether for domestic or commercial projects. Contact us today to schedule your LOLER inspection or discuss any tree care requirements.

EQUIPMENT COVERED BY LOLER INSPECTIONS
Callows Tree Surgery offers LOLER inspections for all essential tree work equipment, including climbing harnesses, ropes, karabiners, lowering ropes, and other lifting devices. Each piece is checked for wear and tear, ensuring it meets manufacturer specifications and operates safely during lifting and lowering operations, reducing the risk of accidents on-site.
WHAT A LOLER INSPECTION CERTIFICATE INCLUDES
After completion, you will receive a written LOLER certificate detailing the equipment make and serial number, inspection location and date, next inspection due date, weight limits, reasons for inspection, tests performed, identified defects, and recommended actions. The certificate also confirms the inspector’s name and qualifications, providing full traceability and assurance of compliance with safety standards.

CTS responded to my inquiry and came and gave a very good quote, and then booked the job within less than 2 weeks. They did a brilliant job and were quick and worked very tidily, and we now have a very smart-looking front to our garden. Will use them in the future when needed.
